- China sold 10.6 million smart speakers in the first quarter of 2019, up nearly 500 percent from a year earlier, according to Canalys' smart speaker market share data.Sales of smart speakers in China have bucked global trends, driven by holiday promotions.That makes China the world's largest market for smart speakers, surpassing the United States.Sales in China accounted for 51 percent of the world's smart speakers, while the U.S. share fell to 24 percent from 44 percent.
